Funding win keeps Emmaville Golf Course in play

Tuesday, 16 December 2025

Erosion to Emmaville Golf Club’s course has made accessing the fairways difficult but that is about to change with Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan delivering a grant for repairs and upgrades.

$35,090 from the Community Building Partnership program will go towards levelling out a very eroded gully players have to cross.

Mr Moylan said keeping community assets, like the Emmaville Golf Club, up to date is essential, particularly in our smaller villages.

“Community sporting facilities, such as the Emmaville Golf Club, are vital for the health and wellbeing of our small villages,” Mr Moylan said.

“They are at the very heart of the community and provide a social and physical outlet.

“It is essential to keep these facilities up to scratch to continue to provide a space for locals to connect.

“They also have the option to hold larger events which results in the wider community benefitting.”

Emmaville Golf Club’s treasurer and public officer Edwin Dawson said the funding will address the poor drainage and uneven paths which will make the course safer for all users.

“We have got the funding for erosion control so we can play more often, stop the flooding and play when it is really wet,” he said.

“It is a community course. We hold open tournaments, open four-ball and we hold fundraisers for the hospital, the school or the fishing club.

“We are very grateful for the funding.”
