Media Release: Turning up for the Uralla Arts Society

Thursday, 9 October 2025

The Uralla Arts Society runs a variety of events and now they will be able to amplify that to a wider audience thanks to a Community Building Partnership grant.

Member for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan delivered $10,839 to the Uralla Arts Society for the purchase of new sound equipment to bolster their range of events.

“The Uralla Arts Society plays an important role in the local community by connecting people with music, plays, dance and vibrant displays,” Mr Moylan said.

“By having better sound equipment and speakers, their events will be taken to the next level and provide a better experience for everyone who attends or takes part in these events.

“It is a volunteer-run group so it great to deliver funding to this important organisation within the Uralla community.”

Uralla Arts Society president Maxine Ross said having better sound will enable audiences to connect with the community events.

“An essential prerequisite of a successful community event is sound. Whether this is the Uralla Winter Solstice or a visiting band,” she said.

“This new sound equipment will enable us to improve the sound quality at these events. We will confidently be able to host events in this knowledge.

“The community will benefit in their enjoyment of ongoing Uralla Arts events.

“We have an active volunteer base of 15 to 20 people and seeing a varied age range involved especially on the gig organisers group. We have an email list of over 200 people and an active Facebook page.

“We are a vibrant community group supporting all forms of the arts and encourage new members at any time.”
